The African National Congress in iLembe on the North Coast suffered a double tragedy last week.

The deputy mayor of Ndwedwe municipality, Nokulunga Blose, and the daughter of the mayor of Maphumulo municipality, Nomkhosi “Kho” Khuzwayo (31) both passed away last Friday.

Blose was serving her second term as deputy mayor, while Khuzwayo was a member of the ANC Youth League provincial executive committee.

Ndwedwe Local municipality deputy mayor Nokulunga Blose.

According to Ndwedwe mayor, Nkosinathi Chili, Blose was a hard-working person who was committed to the development of Ndwedwe.

She was on the executive committee and chairperson of the municipal human resources committee and of the regional ANC women’s league.

“She was a very patient and hard-working person and her departure will leave a huge gap in the community and all the structures she led.

“Condolences to her family and friends,” said Chili.
