Chamber boosts budding businesses

The Ilembe Chamber of commerce has just launched its own Business Support Centre

In order to help grow small to medium sized businesses the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce launched their own Business Support Centre on Friday.
Offering expertise and support to anyone looking to start a small business locally or in areas outside of KwaDukuza, the Centre operates a help desk, where any queries regarding the ins and outs of entrepreneurship can be answered and help provided. The Centre also functions as a resource centre.
“We already have a lot of information available,” said business support desk manager Nobuhle Funda, “and what we don’t have we can get hold of and give you what you need”.
The Business Support Centre also facilitates an entrepreneur mentorship training programme, in which entrepreneurs with a great deal of experience volunteer to mentor young entrepreneurs just starting out.
The Chamber’s CEO Trenley Tilbrook said he was happy it had all come together after a nine month process of getting the idea off the ground with sponsors on board.
Guest speaker, MEC of economic development and tourism Michael Mabuyakhulu said it positioned the chamber to become one of the significant chambers in the country.
