Farming God’s Way programme returns to All Souls this weekend
Learn sustainable gardening and composting using low-cost, chemical-free methods.
The popular Farming God’s Way programme will return to All Souls Anglican Church this weekend, continuing its mission to promote sustainable farming and food security.
This year’s “Gardens of Faithfulness and Compost Training” course will offer practical instruction on vegetable gardening and the production of high-quality natural compost using low-cost, chemical-free methods. Farming God’s Way is aimed at empowering individuals and families to grow healthy food sustainably, while also teaching techniques such as mulching, crop rotation and no-till farming.
All Souls farm manager Denis Fortune said previous courses have shown how even small garden plots can help sustain households and potentially create extra income opportunities.
Training will take place on Friday and Saturday (May 29 and 30) from 8.30am to 4pm. Participants are asked to bring a hat, gloves, work clothes and shoes, their own refreshments and lunch.
A R50 registration fee includes a Gardens of Faithfulness seed and seedling set, as well as a brochure. Those who complete the course will also receive a certificate.
For more information or to register, contact Denis on 082 773 9016. Space is limited.
