Ballito surf star Sophie Bell took second place in the Billabong Junior Pro series.
Ballito’s surfer girl Sophie Bell finished in second place on the overall standings in the Billabong Junior Pro series, U14 category.
She competed in all four events in the series which has been ongoing since March. Bell performed well throughout, coming second at the first event at New Pier in Durban in March, second in East London in April and winning the third event in Cape Town at the end of August. The last stage of the series was held at Seal Point in the Eastern Cape from September 21-23. Bell came third in the final heat while the series winner Kai Woolf from Jeffrey’s Bay came first and Kirsty McGillivray claimed second place. Bell is now competing in the Hurley SA junior champs in Jeffrey’s Bay which kicked off on Wednesday, September 25. She will be looking to take her recent good form into the champs.
