Tongaat man dies in hit and run

Tongaat SAPS are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a man was hit by a car and left to die on Saturday.

Nirosh Chandari (32) from Belverdere died after being hit by a car on the R102 near Inyaninga turn-off on Saturday night.

Tongaat SAPS are investigating a case of culpable homicide as the driver of the car that hit Chandari fled the scene and did not report the accident.

Lt Mandy Govender said he had multiple wounds on the stomach and the face and they suspect he was also run over by more than one car.

Chandari worked at a call center in Mout Edgecombe and usually came home late in the evenings.

The police are appealing to anyone who can assist them with information to contact detective warrant officer Tonie Pillay on 032-9449922 or Lt Mandy Govender on 082 856 7831.
