Gears 4 Ears Ballito
Join the race to help fund cochlear implants for deaf children.
The third Gears 4 Ears mountain-biking fund-raiser gets under way at Holla Trails in Ballito on Sunday, October 27.
Gears 4 Ears is an initiative to help fund cochlear implants for deaf children.
All entries are controlled by the Race Organisers Admin Group (ROAG) and this is the eighth of nine races on the ROAG series.
Two trails will be used for the event, a yellow 50km trail and 19km blue trail. Both will feature all aspects of mountain-biking with stunning scenery along the single and jeep tracks.
The trails allow for a free flow ride, giving the serious competitor something to think about, but at the same time allowing the social rider a good time in the saddle.
Although the Holla Trails routes are clearly marked, the Gears 4 Ears routes will be further sign posted, making it easy to follow.
Event organisers will assist with the ‘Young’uns’ five km ride, which will start at 10am and will take entries on the day only.
This ride will be an excellent opportunity for the youngsters to experience real mountain-biking, while it is safe and easily accessible for parents to monitor.
There will be cash prizes for winners, as well as a host of lucky draw prizes. Each finisher will also receive a new-age stainless steel G 4 E medal to remember their ride by.
Enter the 50 km trail for R150 online or the 19 km event for R100. The 50km starts at 8am and the 19 km trail starts at 8.30am, with registration from 6am.
