Mandeni accused back to jail
Twenty former Mandeni Testing Station staff on trial for fraud, corruption and racketeering charges.

A former Mandeni traffic officer was sent back to jail after he disobeyed a court order on October 24.
Mangaliso Mthembu (31) is one of the 20 former Mandeni Testing Station staff on trial for fraud, corruption and racketeering charges following a Hawks raid on the station.
The former staff members are accused of colluding with driving schools to hand out driver’s licenses without following proper testing procedures.
The Eshowe Regional Court issued a warrant for Mthembu’s arrest because he allegedly interfered with a witness, contravening the court order barring those on trial from contacting witnesses.
He has been charged with intimidation which his lawyer, Veronica Singh, said is a “tactic” by the witness to sabotage Mthembu’s defence.
