Alleged serial killer still in jail

The serial killer used Facebook to lure in his victims.

Suspected Tongaat serial killer Siphiwe Patrick Khoza (36) will not be granted bail.

Khoza was arrested after a manhunt in July and charged with the murders of Phindile Ndlovu (35) Philise Hlatshwayo (40) and Bongiwe Majozi.

The women were found partially naked and bound at the wrists in and around Tongaat.

Police are also trying to link Khoza to a fourth murder, which was similar to that of Khoza’s three alleged victims.

It is believed that Khoza used Facebook to lure victims to Tongaat where he would rob and strangle them. There is also speculation that the women may have been raped.

Khoza’s bail application was abandoned after he asked to stay in jail in fear for his safety (‘Alleged killer asks to stay in jail’, Courier, August 2).

He appeared on August 29 and was taken back to Westville Prison pending DNA results.

He will appear at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on December 13.
