Sibaya Casino drops chips in the soil

Sibaya Casino sponsored a vegetable tunnel to the value of nearly R145 000.

Sibaya Casino’s corporate social investment team recently put their hands to the plough in aid of the Domino Foundation Vegetable Tunnel development

The group planted 2000 seedlings during the first developmental phase.

Sibaya Casino also sponsored one tunnel to the value of nearly R145 thousand, its vegetables being grown to sustain the Domino Foundation soup kitchen, which has been running for the last three years in Brookdale, Phoenix. The kitchen prepares 2500 meals every day, for distribution in Amaoti.

The Domino Foundation is a community based NPO, working in the Amaoti area.

The foundation runs a soup kitchen providing meals to 2500 children twice a day, at 30 crèches. These crèches fall under the early childhood development programmes run by the foundation.

The tunnels will assist the soup kitchen’s grocery bill as well as enabling the foundation to sell vegetables to the community at a reduced rate and at the same time educate the community on how to grow their own vegetables.
