Former druggie pastor speaks out

Being real about drug abuse.

Recovered drug addict turned pastor, Brennan Dauberman, shared his story at CRC Ballito church’s drug awareness evening last Thursday.
Dauberman discussed a number of different drugs, explaining his experience of the illegal substances and the dangers that go with them.
“Prevention is far better than cure,” said Dauberman, who spent 15 years of his life addicted to drugs.
He has been sober and drug free for nine years since.
“You never know what you are getting when you buy these drugs.”
He explained how he used to buy cocaine of a relatively high grade from a specific dealer before mixing it with other substances and re-selling it.
Parents were advised to be aware of signs that their children are experimenting with drugs. Sudden changes in attitude and things in the house going missing were cited as some of the signs to look out for. Dauberman maintained that education is vital.
“If I had known about the dangers before I was introduced to them, this never would have happened to me.”
