On Sunday the Ballito Dutch Reformed Church resonated with the sounds of angelic voices.
The Durban Symphonic Choir together with The Dolphin Singers presented ‘Christmas in Ballito’, delighting the audience with a wide rage of Christmas tunes.
Soloists, including some young local talent, held the audience captive with their powerful voices.
All the proceeds of the concert were donated to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
The Orphan Fund helps to feed, clothe and transport to school the more than 1,000 orphaned and vulnerable children supported by the fund.
In December, when schools are out, the needs of many children are even greater as there is no school feeding scheme to rely on for their midday meal.
Orphan Fund trustee Cathy Bean thanked everyone who had given of their time and energy to make the concert a success.
She emphasised that without the generosity and constant support of the community the Orphan Fund would not be able to assist nearly as many children as they do.
