The Imbizo art gallery had it’s opening night for the “Drawn to Africa” exhibition of works by pencil artist Vincent Reid at the Lifestyle centre last Thursday evening.
Reid’s artworks, which consist of detailed drawings of wildlife and flora, are so lifelike in their shades of grey they are nothing short of breathtaking.
Drawings depicting rhinos are being sold with a percentage going to the Project Rhino KZN initiative, a province-wide association which focuses on rhino conservation and anti-poaching campaigns.
Reid himself is a wildlife fanatic, and has travelled extensively to wildlife hotspots in Africa, photographing the scenes he will later draw.
Reid’s work will be on display for the next six weeks at the Imbizo art gallery.
