Severed hand “a hoax”
A young domestic worker claims to have made a grisly discovery.

Unconfirmed reports of a severed hand being found in a Salt Rock house on Lagoon Drive have been spreading like wildfire around the Dolphin Coast community.
According to IPSS managing director Frank Labidi the IPSS control centre received a phone call on Monday morning at 10.07am after a domestic worker reported finding a severed hand in the house.
A search for the body part turned up empty.
“Nothing suspicious was found and we decided to call in SAPS due to the seriousness of the allegations,” said Labidi.
“The domestic worker was 17 years old and had worked at the house for two months. Her story kept changing. I have done this for a long time and when I went into the house I did not see anything or smell anything. I’m 99.9 percent sure that this was made up,” he said.
SAPS investigations are under way, though attempts to get more information have proved fruitless as so far nothing has been confirmed.
