Police hunting for robbery gang

SAPS Umhlali appealing for help finding a man who is thought to be able to assist investigations.

Umhlali SAPS have issued an urgent appeal for the public to assist them track down a gang thought to be responsible for three house robberies in the Umhlali area since December last year.

The police have issued a photograph of a man who they believe has information on the robberies and have requested help locating him.

He is thought to be in the company of three or four other men driving in a silver Q7Audi in the Umhlali area.

Three house robbery cases were reported at Umhlali police station in January after a gang of four to five men entered the houses and held up the family members at gun point.

They stole items including jewellery, cellphones, cash, wallets, computer equipment, firearms and wrist watches.

In one another case, three men wearing balaclavas entered the house at Ballito and threatened the domestic worker with firearms. They allegedly took a safe containing firearms and fled the scene.

Police are making an appeal to anyone that can assist with any information regarding the case to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Mandla Ngema of SAPS Umhlali on 0835468976 or 0722393440.
