The SAPS Airwing with police search and rescue has joined the search for two men presumed to have drowned on the Dolphin Coast.
Netcare911, KwaDukuza fire and emergency services and the Specialised Rescue Unit headed for Salmon Bay at first light to continue searching for the body of a 28-year-old man who went missing yesterday.
The man, apparently from Shakashead, was swept out to sea around 2.40pm.
Emergency services are also still searching for the fisherman presumed to have drowned after he was washed off the rocks at Blythedale Beach on Sunday.
KwaDukuza SAPS media liaison officer constable S’busiso Khumalo said the 45-year-old man and three friends had spent the night on the beach fishing.
“He was trying to reel his line back in when it got stuck on the rocks. He apparently tried to untangle it and a wave swept him off the rocks.”
