Search continues for teen lost at sea

Rescue teams are scouring the sea and shoreline for the teenager swept out to sea at Tinley Manor yesterday.

A full scale search for the 17-year-old boy feared to have drowned at Tinley Manor yesterday was launched early this morning.
The KwaDukuza fire and emergency services are scouring the shoreline between Zinkwazi and the Tongaat river mouth with the help of Rapid Care and volunteers.
KwaDukuza lifeguards, the Dolphin Coast water patrol and Specialised Rescue are searching the water on boats and jet skis.
They will be joined by the police search and rescue and air wing as soon as they become available.
Local microlights are assisting in the search and have apparently been helpful in ruling out false sightings.
According to Rapid Care’s Paul Herbst, the Groutville teenager was swimming with three friends when he got caught in a rip tide near the tidal pool around 1.45pm yesterday.
The search had to be called off yesterday afternoon due to extremely turbulent swells.
