Two injured on R102 Umhlali

Acid spilled all across the road.

Netcare911 has taken two people to hospital after an accident on the R102 between Shakashead and Umhlali this afternoon.

One of the vehicles had been transporting acid, spilling it across the road.

According to Rapid Care medic Paul Herbst it appeared that a broken-down vehicle had been rear-ended by another car, injuring both drivers, a man and a woman.

Netcare spokesperson Chris Botha reported that the man had been seriously injured.

“The scene should be clear within the next half an hour,” said Herbst.
