It is time to gather your rods and reels for a fun day of fishing at Rain Farm on Sunday, March 16.
The first of its kind at the Rain Farm Game and Lodge, this is a fishing competition for a good cause.
The event is called “Fish for Hope”, and all funds raised will go to the Nicholson Family to aid Jessica Nicholson in her battle against brain cancer.
For the past two years Jessica has been undergoing intensive treatment, which is costing about R200 000 every month.
Fantastic prizes are up for grabs and a rotation system will be in place on the day to ensure each fisherman gets a chance at fishing at a different dam.
The fish will be caught, weighed and released and caddies will be available to take you and your fish bucket to the judges to be weighed and recorded.
Hamburgers, borewors rolls, cool drinks and beer will be on sale, and there will be an auction to add to the fundraising efforts.
The event costs R150 for fishermen, R100 for non-fishing adults and R50 for non-fishing children.
