Weekend crime report

The weekend's crime stats from Umhlali SAPS.

The following crimes were attended to by Umhlali SAPS over the weekend:
•A number of house break-ins occurred in the coastal sector. A house in Summit Road in Sheffield was broken into on Saturday and a home in Colwyn Drive was burgled on Saturday night. On Friday night a house in La Mer in Ballito and a house on Colwyn Drive were burgled. On Sunday a house on Club Road in Salt Rock was broken into.
•There were three thefts out of motor vehicles reported on Friday. Electrical equipment was stolen out of a bakkie on Gazelle Road in Ballito. Another car had its window smashed in the car park near Chakas Rock tidal pool and a car was broken into at the Sheffield beach parking and personal items were stolen from inside.
•Moving inland, a house was burgled in Shakaskraal on Saturday. A window had been forced open to gain entry.
•A house in Upper Tongaat was broken into. The burglar guards had been removed and access was gained through a window.
•A docket for an attempted murder was opened after a man was found with gun shot wounds in Shakashead on Sunday.
Umhlali SAPS arrested three people for selling liquor without a license, six for possession of marijuana, 21 for drinking in public, one for dealing in cocaine and one person was arrested for dealing in marijuana.
