Jazz superstar tours district

Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum undertook a whirlwind tour through Ilembe this week.

Whalum is best known for his solo on the Whitney Houston classic I Will Always Love You and his work with legendary jazz pianist and vocalist George Duke and jazz heavyweight Paul Jackson Jnr.

He was in town to promote the Awesome Ilembe Arts Festival, launched at the King Shaka International Airport on Wednesday.
