“From good to great”
Local business women enjoyed a morning of networking and an inspirational talk at the Boathouse.
Over 120 business women found out what it takes to move their businesses and personal lives to the next level at a ladies breakfast at the Boathouse Hotel last Friday.
iLembe Chamber’s Women in Business Forum members enjoyed the opportunity to network, have fun and be inspired to better their lives and businesses.
The highlight of the morning was the presentation by Liza Gresse from Ubuhle HR titled “Moving from good to great”. Gresse’s expertise in personal development and planning really showed as she spoke about what it takes to transform your life.
“We are not only here to show the elegance and power of women in today’s world. I firmly believe the future of our economy is embedded in entrepreneurs. By creating jobs we are feeding families,” she said.
Her presentation focused how women can flourish, even with the many responsibilities in their lives.
“We live in modern times where women are well educated, but people are still surprised to find women at an executive level. To raise kids, run a family and have a career is a challenge but with a little bit of planning we can still be great, stay in business and effect the economy,” said Gresse .
Her talk outlined the role that choice and discipline play in leading a successful life and career.
After the presentation, the women enjoyed a glass of champagne before taking part in an auction for a two nights stay at the Boathouse.
The funds raised will go towards the forum’s Early Childhood Development project, which supports 21 local creches in partnership with Training and Resources in Early Education project (TREE).
The Chamber’s Renalda Hoffman was happy with the turn out.
“It was motivating to be surrounded by such inspirational ladies and I thoroughly enjoyed Lisa Gresse’s presentation. Everything was a treat at the Boathouse and I appreciate all the prize sponsors,” she said.
Hoffman is now turning her attention to the Chamber golf day, the Chamber luncheon and the up coming workshops they will be hosting.
