
The following crimes were attended to by Umhlali SAPS over the weekend:
*Two men were allegedly stopped at the Umhlali traffic lights by five men dressed in police uniforms on Saturday evening. The men were searched and then robbed.
*Police found a man with stab wounds to his back and head late on Saturday night in Shakaskraal. The man was taken to Stanger for treatment.
*Residents in Tinley Manor found a man armed with a knife in their house on Saturday afternoon. The intruder had entered the house through the front door.
*A woman was cut with a sharp object by another woman outside a Ballito bar at the Circle on Friday night.
*A case of assault was opened after a man was beaten up over an argument regarding a signed agreement in Salt Rock.
*In the early hours of Saturday morning a man woke up to find a burglar in his room in Salt Rock. The intruder grabbed a knife on the bed side table and demanded money. The man threw his bedside table at the intruder who then ran out of the house.
*On Friday night a man caught a lift with three men from Shakaskraal. On the way to Shakashead, the men pulled him out of the car and assaulted and robbed him.
*A business in Velani was broken into early on Friday morning.
Umhlali SAPS arrested one person for culpable homicide, two for selling liquor without a license, seven for road traffic violations, seven for drinking in public and three people were arrested for possession of marijuana. Overall, 16 people were arrested and ten cases were solved over the weekend.
