Three people died and four others were critically injured after a horrific accident near Mandeni this morning.
A truck coming from Stanger tried to avoid a white Nissan bakkie, which was apparently swerving across the road around 6am.
Both occupants of the Nissan died on impact.
Netcare911, IPSS medical rescue and KwaZulu-Natal EMRS arrived to find carnage, debris and crumpled remains of the two cars strewn across the road.
Several passengers had to be cut out of the twisted vehicle frames.
The passenger in the truck, a woman, passed away during attempts to resuscitate her.
