20 000 reasons to smile

The Christmas Fair Fund gets a financial boost from Zimbali Community Charity Fund.

It was all-smiles on Monday morning when the Zimbali Community Charity Fund handed over a cheque for R20 000 to the Christmas Fair Fund.

The money was part of the money raised by the ZCFF’s golf day on March 2.

Chairman David Manley said they originally based fund allocation on a certain level of anticipated income from the event, but were able to raise, and give, more.

“This year, having completed our capital project of building the new Nkobongo Resource Centre for orphans last year, we have decided to focus on and support other deserving charities on the North Coast. This particular award gives us great pleasure as we know the enormous amount of good work carried out by Christmas Fair Fund in the area.”

The balance of the funds raised was shared among other North Coast-based charities including the Ballito Cancer Support Network, Westbrook Retirement Village, Siyakula Crèche and St Luke’s.

Chairlady Michelle Blake was bubbling with appreciation.

“What an unexpected and most welcome boost to our initiatives and this from a source that has already been so generous in their allocation of funds to the Christmas Fair Fund. The money will be used in two of our newest projects,” she said.
