NFP president welcomes new members in Tongaat

Magwaza-Msibi encourages people to vote.

National Freedom Party (NFP) president, Zanele Magwaza-Msibi was received by a large crowd of supporters when she visited Hambanathi Resource Centre, Tongaat on Monday evening. Magwaza-Msibi’s visit was part of the NFP’s election campaign and to officially welcome new members to her party.

“We welcomed 280 new members today from Tongaat and surrounding areas and to me this is a sign that people recognise the potential of the NFP. They are obviously fed up with false promises made by other political parties,” said Magwaza-Msibi.

She stressed the importance of voting and said people must stop being apathetic when it comes to politics.

“You must remember that the people in power were put there by voters, so if you are unhappy about the way things are right now then you must vote. That is the only way you are going to see change,” said Magwaza-Msibi.

Former ANC members Neliswa Mthembu, Enock Mthethwa and Nkosinathi Sosiba said they were disappointed with how the ANC had turned against its own people who put it into power.

“The ANC river only waters Nkandla and the rest of us are left dry. I believe the NFP is the strongest opposition we have right now and this country is in desperate need of a different party to lead us,” said Sosiba.

His sentiments were echoed by Mthethwa who said he admired the work that Magwaza-Msibi did while she was the Zululand district mayor and he had faith she could lead the country.

“If we are not careful we are going to lose international investors because we vote the wrong people into power who are running this country into the ground as we speak,” said Mthethwa.
