An Easter they won’t forget

Courier staff spend morning with KwaMama children

The best part of Easter is undeniably mounds and mounds of…chocolate.

Aside from all the other goodies, and tons of family laughs, getting the goo of a marshmallow and chocolate egg  squished between your fingers has got to be one of the best feelings in the world.

For the hundreds of little people at KwaMama Care Centre in Shakashead, this Easter may have passed without that joy.

But thanks to a visit from four special bunnies from the North Coast Courier this morning, the children had an Easter they will not forget in a hurry.

Journalists Gareth Jenkinson and Jodi van Wyk, graphic designer Jenna Hight and intern, St Mary’s pupil Savannah Bacon even hopped on a few swings, tried the slide and rolled around in the grass.

Boxes of marshmallow eggs were emptied fast as excited little hands grabbed them and eager faces were smeared with chocolate.

KwaMama’s Frieda Bontkowskyj thanked the bunnies for their visit.

“Our kids really had fun. Thank you North Coast Courier!”
