Kalai scores perfect 10

Ballito’s Kalai Moodley has proved dynamite most certainly comes in small packages.
The bubbly Perfect 10 Ballito franchisee was recently named franchisee of the year at the Franchise Association of South Africa’s (FASA) Awards for Excellence in Franchising.
Perfect 10 at Ballito Junction is easily one of the most popular nail and body studios on the North Coast, racking up a regular client base of 2700 in just two years.
Moodley’s award was accepted on her behalf by franchisor, beauty-holding company Imbalie Beauty.
She was awarded based on her understanding of the importance of having good systems and structures in place to run a successful franchise operation.
“Creating a winning team has enabled me to attract and retain our large loyal client base. This has ensured that we have become a beauty destination of choice in a very short period.”
Moodley, who was in the building industry for 14 years, escaped the rat-race of Gauteng for what she calls the idyllic life in Ballito.
“My mission is not just to meet our clients’ expectations but to exceed them. Our clients love us. They are our friends and the salon is a place where they can offload, be built up and pampered.”
Moodley said the salon’s success can be attributed to hard working staff and God’s grace.
“I am blessed beyond measure and the girls are amazing. We are a family.”
She mentioned expansion as one of the immediate goals for Perfect 10 Ballito.
“Our space presently cannot handle our demand, so we are looking at branching out. Opening a Dream Nails bar or Plaseco franchise might also be in the pipeline.”
