Discussing global warming over breakfast

Your Earth Solutions' Kerry Dell's top Earth Day tips.

Hirsch Ballito hosted the founder and director of Your Earth Solutions, Kerry Dell, at their April networking breakfast.
Dell, who was the guest speaker, stressed the importance of not being complacent about global warming.
She highlighted the fact that atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased over the past few years due to a combination of continuing growth in emissions and a decrease in land carbon sinks.
“Global warming is slowly destroying the planet and climate change is a reality. Temperatures are rising around the world, the sea level is rising and we are witnessing a lot more prolonged and life sapping droughts,” she said.
“Simple things like avoiding the use of plastic bags and making sure that we pick bags up when we see them lying around on beaches, make a difference. We can also implement the use of LED lighting and slowly work towards the installation of solar panels in our homes.”
Dell pointed out that if industrial companies reduce their power consumption they can receive tax incentives.
A carbon tax will be implemented in 2016, which could serve to make a difference.
