The time has come for dads to get involved with Mother’s Day gifts, considering how hard their ladies work to carry their children and bring them into the world.
Besides, Father’s Day is not too far off and if you shine on Mother’s Day, your efforts could have a direct influence on how you fare.
Here are some easy, inexpensive things you can do with the kids to make this Mother’s Day a special one:
Get familiar with the kitchen
Your wife/girlfriend is probably the resident chef, so give her a break. Rope the kids in and cook a meal. It does not have to be gourmet. Even making sensational sandwiches will do the trick, as long as you put in an effort.
Go grocery shopping
Yes, grocery stores are notoriously frightening for men, especially if they are alone. Ask mom for her shopping list (all women have one) and get moving. Take the kids with you so she can have some quiet time.
Wash her car
With the furiously paced lives most moms lead, a clean car is a distant dream, particularly if kids get grubby fingerprints on windows and spill food everywhere. You are a man, car cleaning is in your genes. Give your kids a bucket and sponge and have some fun.
Have tea with her
Cheating is allowed on this one – you can get some cupcakes and other treats from a home industry store, but make the tea and set the table yourself (ask the kids to help if they are old enough). Let mom sit down and be served.
Bring it home
Spa treatments are fantastic, but you can also bring those luxuries to your home. Clean up the bathroom and lay out a few warm towels, lotions, perfumes and oils. Trust me, your girl has these hidden in her vanity, all you have to do is find them. Pop a relaxing CD in the DVD player and let the pampering begin.
