Becoming a mother is one of life’s greatest miracles.
While the birthing process is painful and traumatic, a woman comes away from it with a breathtaking gift.
During the months of pregnancy and after she has given birth a woman’s first port of call is usually her own mother.
Westbrook mum Renisha Kistnan is extra-blessed, having both her mother and grandmother to call on.
Renisha’s 19-month-old daughter Divani now has the privilege of being raised by her mother, grandmother Jane Mahabeer and great-grandmother Malthi Sewprasad.
“Divani is my greatest gift. She calls herself mama’s little baby princess and I cannot imagine loving anyone the way I love Divani. Becoming a mother changed my life so much and the journey is more meaningful because my mum and grandmother are walking with me. I have to thank my mum for all she has done for me and looking after my precious daughter.”
Jane said watching her only daughter grow into motherhood has been an emotional experience.
“Renisha is our baby girl and she gave us our first grandchild. It means the world to me to watch her bond with her daughter the way I bonded with her.”
Malthi also shares a special relationship with the adorable Divani.
“Not many people live to see their great grandchildren so I am grateful that I have. Mother’s Day is a day I thoroughly enjoy.”
