Umhlali weekend crime report
Police found a man dead on the railway tracks near Shavins Store in Etete.
The following crimes were attended to by Umhlali SAPS over the weekend:
- Ducks, a tractor battery and two brush-cutters were stolen were stolen from a farm on Salt Rock Road on Sunday evening.
- On Sunday evening a woman was assaulted by another woman while walking home near Shayamoya Town Hall.
- On Saturday night a shop in Shakashead was burgled.
- Chubb responded to a house break-in on Hugh Dent Road in Salt Rock on Saturday night. Burglars had broken into the lounge and took off with a number of items.
- On Friday a 12-year-old girl was raped in Driefontein.
- Electronics were stolen from a house in Shakashead on Friday night.
- A man who was stabbed at the Driefontein taxi rank last week opened a late reported case on Friday afternoon. He claimed a group of people had attacked him.
- Police found a man dead on the railway tracks near Shavins Store in Etete. He was found on the tracks with a large wound to his chest. A case of murder has been opened.
- A laptop was stolen out of the reception of a business on Garlicke Drive on Friday morning.
Umhlali SAPS arrested three people for selling liquor without a license, 14 people for possession of marijuana, five for drinking in public and one person was arrested for driving over the speed limit.
