Painting the town RED

Keller Williams (KW) Realty Zimbali do their bit to help.

Keller Williams (KW) Realty Zimbali staff took a quick break from selling homes to brighten up the North Coast on May 8.

The team’s three phase charity project was part of Keller Williams’ international Renew, Energise and Donate (RED) day, introduced to all branches in 2009 as an annual day of service.

Phase one saw the team visit the Westbrook Retirement Village with a medical team, to help residents with joint pain and diabetes and check blood pressure.

They donated supplies and entertained the residents, also spending a few moments in prayer with them.

During phase two on Friday morning KW ladies gave residents manicures while the men stepped into the kitchen to prepare a delicious stew for lunch.

Market centre administrator Beverley Gaul said the village was identified as their 2014 cause.

“We were very saddened to discover the poor living conditions of the elderly. We painted the community centre, kitchen and bathroom.”

The third and final phase brought KW Dubai chief executive officer Zhann Jochinke and KZN north regional director Piaras Moriarty to KwaMama Care Centre in Shakashead, where they delivered a load of fresh fruit and vegetables with some toys, clothing and books.

Gaul thanked all sponsors and donors.

“The support and sincere generosity being shown by those who we have approached for help to make RED Day a success is very heart warming. The team has indicated that they would like to continue to offer their support when they next return to South Africa.”
