Ballito is Happy!

I Love Ballito and Seeff Properties

Last night I Love Ballito and Seeff Properties launched Ballito’s very own Happy video- ‘We are Happy in Ballito’ at La Piazza at The Well.

‘We are Happy in Ballito’ was produced by Tim Hey of Hellmot Productions and showcases locals dancing all over the town, including the Courier staff.

It has been viewed 1,653 times since it was launched at 6pm yesterday.

‘Happy’ is a song performed by American singer and producer Pharrell Williams from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack album. It was released on November 21, last year.

To coincide with the single release, the website 24hoursofhappy.com was launched featuring a visual presentation of ‘Happy’ advertised as being “the world’s first 24 hour music video”. The video consists of the four-minute song repeated with various people dancing around Los Angeles and miming along.

The original video spawned many cover videos on YouTube in which people from different cities throughout the world dance to the song. Those videos are usually called “Pharrell Williams – Happy – We Are from [name of the city]”. To date more than 1,500 videos had been created.

“A special shout out to all the awesome people who took part in this video as well as all the people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make things happen,” said I Love Ballito’s Karl Worner.

Check out the video below (watch out for the Courier staff at around two minutes!)
