Step up for Tekkie Tax

Support the charity sector of your choice,

Tekkie Tax Day is right around the corner. Do you have your stickers and tekkies ready to show where your heart lies?

This Friday, May 30, you can show your support for a specific sector of charity that is close to your hearts. By buying Tekkie Tax stickers for any one or more of the five sectors you will be donating R10 per sticker to that sector. All the donations collected will be distributed to hand picked welfare organisations and national NGO’s. The five sectors that you can support are Animals (A), Basic Family Care (B), Children (C), Disability (D) and Education (E). That’s not all, you can also show your support by wearing your tekkies this Friday spiffed up with the funky coloured shoelaces called ‘Tekkie Tags”. Tekkie Tags can be purchased together with a sticker of your choice for R30. Stickers and tekkie tags can be purchased from any of the participating welfare organisations or ordered off the tekkie tax website at www.tekkietax.co.za. Child Welfare SA in Stanger and Tongaat are selling stickers and tekkie tags as well as an NGO at the Stanger Training Centre on Pamheaven Road. You can contact KP Hira on 032-552 5498 at the Stanger Training Centre.

You can also make a donation of R20 via sms by smsing either A, B, C, D or E to 44400 or via EFT and Payfast. In Tekkie Tax’s first year in 2013 they managed to raise a whopping R2,4 million with over 180 local welfare organisation benefiting. The most supported sector of 2013 was the children’s sector with 34% of the donators choosing to buy sticker ‘C’.

This intiative is endorsed by 15 of the biggest national NGO’s in the country who represent more than 1000 local organisations like Child Welfare SA, Highveld Horse Unit and Meals on wheels.

Show your support this Friday May 30 and wear your tekkies and stickers for a good cause.
