Double accidents on the M4

A pedestrian was hit by a car in front of the Zimbali Estate gates on the M4 just before 8am this morning.
According to Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha, the vehicle was crossing over from the M4 highway towards the Zimbali contractor gate when the driver hit a woman in the road.
Paramedics arrived to find the woman lying in the roadway with multiple injuries. She was stabilised and immobilised on a trauma board before she was transported to a nearby hospital.
“Details to the cause of the accident are still speculative and will remain a subject for police comment,” said Botha.
Another accident was reported on the M4 this morning. Two people were injured after two vehicles collided on the M4 near La Mercy this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the damaged cars. The patients were found on the side of the roadway.
They were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
