Beyrick braves Brazil
Beyrick de Vries competed in the Quiksilver Saquarema Prime in Brazil.
Beyrick de Vries finished 17th overall in the Quiksilver Saquarema Prime in Brazil last week.
De Vries did superbly, knocking out some top surfers including two time world champ Jack Freestone, the previous year’s winner Cape Town surfer Mitch Colborne, the well known Carlos Munoz and Caio Ibello.
In round four de Vries was topped by Hawain Keanu Asing who scored a 9.50 on a single wave and finished with a heat total of 17.50.
Asing went on to take second place after Brazil’s Wiggolly Dantas in a closely fought final.
De Vries is now 26th on the international ratings.
You can catch him in Umdloti next weekend at the second leg of the Quiksilver Takes One To Know One series.
