Big boost for Winter Fair
Child Welfare SA hosted a fundraising event at The Boathouse to launch the Winter fair.

Child Welfare SA hosted a fundraising event to launch their Winter Fair at The Boathouse on Friday, May 23.
A spectacular evening was filled with delicious food from the new Thava restaurant, live musical entertainment from Majozi, money pledges and friendly chats. The evening was a resounding success with the organisation raising a fantastic total of R315 000 in pledges on the evening. Just under 200 people came out to support the organisation.
Title sponsor Edison Power Group’s owner Vivian Reddy made a very generous donation of R75 000. Reddy’s representatives Kris Naidoo and Gordon Naicker presented Welfare President PraveenSham with a giant cheque. Director of the Winter Fair 2014 councillor Sandeep Oudhram said, “I do not know where we are going to put all this money now. This is amazing.”
Child Welfare SA and the Mr Price Pro formed a partnership, with coordinator Collette Bundy helping the organisation pull off a successful fund raiser and Winter Fair. Bundy explained the partnership was formed to use the event tourism of the Mr Price Pro to create awareness of the needs of the community. The Winter Fair will be taking place from June 26 to 29 in Stanger with the Mr Price Pro following straight afterwards making it a “one 10 day long event,” said Bundy. “Without the passion of the people in this room we would not be able to contribute to empowerment,” said Bundy.
