KDM awards staff excellence

Outstanding employees recognised for public service.

KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu has awarded well-performing staff and rewarded them for their service to the municipality.

Mthembu recognised the improvements in the municipality at the annual KwaDukuza staff awards ceremony last week.

Eleven employees were given awards for outstanding performance and 12 retired employees were honoured for their commitment in service to the public.

“The role played by workers in their drive to improve public service must not go unnoticed as this constitutes the greater part of creating motivated public service cadres in this institution,” said Mthembu.

He said things have changed since he came into office in 2011.

“Things were not all smooth sailing but we made a push. A number of people casted doubts on our ability to entrench and drive excellence. We are better off. Today, we have made KwaDukuza an even better place to work and live in. This alone goes to show that we are indeed committed to service delivery.”

He commended workers for raising the profile of the municipality in the eyes of the public.
