The N2 southbound was closed for almost an hour this morning after a serious accident just before Tinley Manor.
The accident, which involved three cars, was apparently caused by a small truck carrying stones that lost its load in the left lane.
A white Toyota braked behind the truck and lost control, spinning onto the centre median and landing on its roof.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said both passengers in the car were injured, one critically.
“A black VW Polo then rear-ended a silver Ford injuring four people, one critically.”
The road was closed for 45 minutes while IPSS Medical Rescue and Netcare911 paramedics helped patients.
KwaDukuza fire and emergency were also at the scene.
