A security guard is fighting for his life after being shot three times during an armed robbery in Mandeni.
Coin Security guards were taking a drop box either in or out of a Mandeni filling station around 12pm, when four men opened fire on them with AK47s.
According to IPSS Medical Response’s Paul Herbst a security guard was shot in the face, chest and back.
IPSS Medical Response and Netcare911 attended, and the guard was airlifted to hospital by the Air Mercy Service.
The robbers got away with the guard’s service pistol and an undisclosed amount of cash.
