Two down, 13 still strong!

Slimline contestants refuse to give up!

The Slimline Too Cool for Pool competition is heating up…or freezing up!

Contestants are approaching their 28th hour in the port-a-pool at Ballito Junction, since climbing in at midday yesterday.

Steven McDonald dropped out at 8.30am and was followed by Dean Pillay a few hours ago, leaving 13 contestants still battling it out to win a fibre glass pool, with all the works, from Slimline Pools.

None of the contestants sat down until an hour ago, when they were ordered to do so as the pool had shifted.

They were treated to supper and breakfast from Mamma Gs, which kept their spirits up. Some supporters have stuck around for moral support.

Lockeroom Gym has been popping by to keep contestants fit while the Specialised Rescue Unit is monitoring contestants’ medical conditions.

” My feet are wrinkled and my back hurts like hell, but there is no way I am giving up,”  said Lonneke Egersdorfer.

Some of the guys admitted to cuddling each other to keep warm last night, but most kept the cold at bay by keeping the jokes flowing.

“I feel good. I think it is just mind over matter, really. As long as we have someone to talk to we will be fine,”  said Shona Lumsden.
