Four pedestrians and two cows were killed in accidents on the Dolphin Coast on Sunday.
IPSS Medical Rescue responded to an accident on the N2 north bound between Ballito and Chakas Rock in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A white utility vehicle collided with an African woman who was crossing the N2. It is believed that two further vehicles drove over her after the first vehicle had knocked into her. Unfortunately died before paramedics arrived on scene. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Later that day IPSS Medical Rescue were dispatched to an accident involving three cars and two cows. It appears that the cows were crossing the N2 when they were struck by three separate vehicles. Both cows did not survive, but fortunately no injuries were sustained by any of the vehicle occupants.
On the way to the scene involving the cows, IPSS Medical Rescue came across three separate pedestrian/ motor vehicle accidents. Two separate incidents happened between Dokodweni and Mandeni and another one was at bridge 13 on the N2. Tragically, all three of the pedestrians were killed on impact.
“Drivers, passengers and pedestrians are urged to be safe as we enter the July holiday period,” said IPSS medical rescue’s Paul Herbst.
