Thieves target visitors to the Ballito Pro

Weekend crime report.

Umhlali SAPS is urging residents and visitors to take care when parking their cars in Ballito for the next few weeks.
Since Monday, cars have lined the street on Compensation Beach Road as holidaymakers flock to the beach to watch the action at the Mr Price Pro Ballito.
“The public needs to be aware that criminals will take any opportunity to break into their vehicles,” said Lt Col Dieter Fittkau.
The Station Commander is asking people to not leave any valuables in their cars and to be mindful of who is watching their vehicles while they are gone.
“People must also ensure that they lock their doors at night. We have had several reports of sliding doors being left wide open over night. Please take care and secure your premises.”
