20 August – Sundowners on Eat Street with DJ Teegz from 4-6pm, before open mic at The Market between 6-8pm.

21 August – Joshua na die Reën and band. An intimate Barnyard-style concert at Ballito Gesinskerk from 6pm. Bring your own picnic baskets and drinks. R200 for adults and R100 for primary school children. Contact Leonie at 064 867 2995.

– Jason Hartman will perform at The Market between 6-9pm, with Steve Graham on Eat Street from 6.30-9.30pm.

22 August – Run Ballito Junction through the mall’s parking levels. The 5km fun run starts at 7am. Tickets R50-170 from Racepass, with proceeds going to Hello Poppy charity.

– Catch Rene Tshiakanyi at The Studios from 10.30am-12.30pm, Rock the Boat at The Market between 12.30-3.30pm and Dave Imrie on Eat Street from 6.30-9.30pm. Springboks vs New Zealand on the big screen at The Market from 5pm.

René Tshiakanyi will be on hand to keep things upbeat and grooving.

23 August – See Ryan Lawler live at The Studios between 10.30am-12.30pm, before Sunday lunch with Qadasi & Maqhinga at The Market from 12.30-3.30pm or Triple Beat on Eat Street between 1-4pm.

27 August – StorySlamKZN at Butcher & Wine in Salt Rock Centre. Dinner from 5.30pm, storytelling from 7pm. Booking is essential on 081 799 8750. Five speakers will each tell a five-minute true story. R100pp in support of the DKS Scholarship Fund. All are welcome to tell a story; contact Karen Doveton on 084 900 5444.

29 August – Francois Boyce (#HoezitSamelewing) will be the guest speaker at Ballito Gesinskerk’s ladies morning from 9.30am. Tickets R200pp include light refreshments. Contact Leonie at 064 867 2995.

– Wozza Rhythm & Roots Umhlali Prep Music Festival. Headlined by Veranda Panda, with Phillip Taylor Band, Jason Hartman, Grant Truter Music and the Umhlali Prep school choir and marimbas. Gates open 10am. Tickets are R250 for adults and R150 under 18s.

30 August – Secret Sunrise Puppy Yoga at Sugar Rush Park. Tickets R200 from Quicket.

3 September – Afrikaans music legend Jannie du Toit will perform at Ballito Gesinskerk at 6pm. Tickets R100pp from Leonie at 064 867 2995, inclusive of soup and sherry.

6 and 7 September – Durban Plant Fair at Durban Botanic Gardens from 9am-4pm. Indigenous plants on sale as well as informative talks from environmental experts. Entry and parking free.

Regular markets
• Wednesday: Market 032 from 8am-12.30pm at La Montagne.
• Thursday and Sunday: Salt Rock Farmers’ Market at Slow Roads Collective. 7am-12pm on Thursday and 9am-1pm on Sunday.
• First Friday of every month: Market 032 night market, 6-9pm at La Montagne.
• First and last Saturday of the month: Car boot sale at Ballito Gesinskerk, 7-11am.
• Saturday, Sunday and selected public holidays: Ballito Farmers Market, 8am-3pm at Lower Oaklands Farm, Umhlali.
