Blythedale domestic worker attacked, employer stabbed

Domestic worker allegedly sexually assaulted

The wife of a prominent North Coast businessman and her domestic worker were attacked in Blythedale this afternoon.

According to a family member, who did not want to be named, the woman was driving home when she saw her domestic worker on the road with an unknown black man.

“She thought her domestic worker may have been late, and wondered why she was walking. The domestic worker usually contacts her employer if she needs a lift.”

The woman stopped and noticed the domestic worker seemed upset.

The domestic worker then told her employer that the man she was with wanted her cellphone. When she opened the car door to let her domestic worker in, the man allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the woman’s hand.

It is alleged that the man had sexually assaulted the domestic worker.

Both the woman and domestic worker are being treated at a local hospital.

A suspect has apparently been arrested, but KwaDukuza SAPS could not be reached for comment.
