Our very own Mary Poppins!

Nannies get the morning off!

“Mary Poppins – practically perfect in every way.”

Every parent wishes for a Julie Andrews clone in their house with an endless carpet bag of tricks for their children.

A special group of real-life Mary Poppins were treated to a morning of goodies and motivation at the Nanny Appreciation Tea at All Souls Anglican Church on Friday morning.

Nannies were given the morning off to feel loved and appreciated.

Chantel Robert, who runs The Nanny Course, said nannies need to be reminded of just how important their role is.

“They become part of a family, especially when Mom and Dad are both working pressurised jobs. They feed, bath and look after children and keep house, which is not an easy job. Today, we just wanted them to know they are loved and so appreciated!”

Trish Hall from the Netcare Alberlito Hospital Stork’s Nest educated the nannies on female health, hygiene and vaccinations, while Grant Slevin provided some useful budgeting and finance tips.

The organisers thanked all those who sponsored items for the tea.
