Pedestrian killed at Shaka’s Rock bridge

Road cleared.

A man was killed after he was hit by a bakkie on the N2 north under the Shakaskraal/ Shaka’s Rock bridge this morning at around 7am. Netcare 911 paramedics found the man lying in the road. “It was established that he had died before our arrival due to the extensive injuries that he sustained,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha. The N2 north bound lane was closed for about 20 minutes, resulting in traffic being backed up all the way to Ballito. The road has been cleared and traffic is now flowing freely again.
