Elderly man critically injured in Tongaat

Patient airlifted to Nkosi Albert Luthuli hospital.

An elderly man, and not a woman is initially reported, is fighting for his life after he was hit by a vehicle in the Tongaat CBD this morning at around 9.20am.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha initial reports indicate that the man had been running across the street when he was hit by a vehicle.

The elderly man’s head hit into the windscreen of the vehicle.

Netcare911 paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the patient at the scene, after he was placed on a ventilator and immobilised on a trauma board, they airlifted him to the Nkosi Albert Luthuli hospital.
