
The following crimes were attended by Umhlali SAPS this weekend:
*On Sunday morning a Ballito resident woke up to find a window of his house forced opened on Hillary Drive. Items valued at R73 050 ware stolen.
*On Saturday night in a similar incident a Ballito resident woke to find a window of his house broken and items valued at R12730 stolen.
*A man was arrested on Saturday morning in Salt Rock for stealing a cellphone inside an apartment while the owner was busy doing maintenance and gardening.
*A man was assaulted and pointed at with a firearm on Saturday afternoon, allegedly by taxi security guards and taxi owners at Shakaskraal. The culprits had allegedly demanded to search his car.
*A woman was raped on Saturday morning inside her house in Tete, allegedly by a man who lives in the area. The man gained entry through a broken window and threatened the woman with a knife.
*On Saturday a woman in Tete was raped, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend. He forced her to go to his house and assaulted her before rapping her.
*A group of men damaged a house in Tete and the owner was assaulted and threatened with firearms on Friday night.
*A Shakaskraal shop owner and his employees were held up at gunpoint on Friday morning, while he was preparing for pension payout. Three man drove off with R27 000 and cellphones. No one was hurt.
The Umhlali SAPS urge resident and holiday makers not to leave valuable items in their cars.
