It was an action packed KZN Regional Race held at the Idube Racetrack last weekend, and a successful outing for the drivers from the TonyKart stable.

In the Minirok class, Dominic Lincoln made it three wins from three starts, giving the driver and overall win for the day. Robert Whiting finished second in the Junior Max category.

But once again it was the DD2 and DD2 Masters category that had the crowd on their feet. Ashton Collage’s Benjamin Habig won all three his heats, pushing him into the overall lead in the 2014 KZN Championship, and increasing his lead in the 2014 SA Championship to 15 points.

“It was a good day for me, and I achieved my goal. We have two KZN regional events left, and then the SA Championship finals which will be held at Zwartkops on 4 October,” said an elated Habig.

Four times DD2 Masters World Champion, Christiano Morgado, the most senior of the TonyKart drivers, won his class convincingly.

Both these drivers will be in action at the Africa Open on September 5 and 6 at the Zwartkops Raceway.
